My heart is in my stomach reading your post. I have two things to say. First, the network you've built over the past months will definitely be there to help cover the ground you may not be capable of at the moment. Secondly, as gut wrenching as your cousin's loss is, it will likely allow you to keep some elements of your job search in their proper perspective. I lost my step-father suddenly during a stressful time in my life. For a time after his death I was able to shrug off things that I normally would have made a big deal out of. There is a brief moment of clarity where we are able to recognize what really does/doesn't matter in life. Use this time to chase some things you may have feared in the past because the rejection, if it comes, won't hit you the way it may have before. You've been tragically reminded of what counts in this world...what's truly worth being upset about.

Please let me know if there is anything I can do. Good luck with the logistics company.

algarve flight comments on Health Study Suggests Optimism Training could Improve Heart Health

I really like this blog post, it has some great info. On a serious note though, you make some really good points. I appreciate the idea about getting in touch with them and discussing the job and what the responsibilities may be. This is a good way to find an opportunity that may be over looked if I were to just read the note and move on. Good advice, thanks.

Kristin31 comments on Improve Job Satisfaction with Optimistic Work Motivation Strategies

I realy like your hot outcome! Did you make sure the keywords from the job description made it onto your resume and cover letter? If not, resubmit. If they can post multiple times, surely you can submit multiple times. Good luck. Let me know if I can help with a contact at that company at all.

I also get your take on the overqualified line. It comes off like "it's not you...it's me." You are wise to realize it may be sincere. If they sent you a note like that, you have evidence they think highly of you, right? Turn it around on them. Thank them for recognizing your abilities may go beyond what they need. Challenge them to think of how they may be able to add to the job's responsibilities so you may indeed be a fit. Let them know you are open to discussing how the skills you have that go beyond what they initially thought they needed may be put to use to improve the bottom line of their company and help them knock some of their goals out of the ball park.

By the way, if you go the cigarette butt route, use one of those long sticks with the grabbers on the end. Otherwise future handshakes are out of the question. Just saying.

Dr. Russ Buss comments on The Dr. Russ Buss Optimism Opportunity Seeking Game

Welcome Belarus.
